Title: Stress prediction: Is it really that simple?
Abstract: In my seminar, I am going to present different ways of framing the problem of stress prediction. Since we measured different aspects of stress, we had a choice of how to define the concept and how to approach its prediction. We showed that by simplifying the problem, we can improve the results of prediction without necessarily sacrificing its validity.
Short bio: I work at the Department of Intelligent Systems at Jožef Stefan Institute and I am a PhD student at Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School. I studied psychology at University Ljubljana, where I graduated with a thesis titled Physiological response to solving an intelligence test. I also studied physics at University Ljubljana and at Imperial College London where I graduated with a thesis titled Simulating x-ray generation in plasma wakefield accelerators. In the past, I worked at Reactor Physics Department at Jožef Stefan Institute and at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. I have been employed at the Department of Intelligent Systems since 2018. I worked on a project on the topic of stress at work, called STRAW, in which we studied how physiological responses to stress and the context of work can be used to predict daily experience of stress in the workplace.
