One of our project partners (dis.ijs.si), was among the two grand winners of the XPrize Pandemic Response Challange (https://www.xprize.org/challenge/pandemicresponse) organized by XPrize and sponsored by Cognizant. The challenge tasked competitors with developing methods to predict COVID-19 infections, and to prescribe interventions with good trade-offs between lowering infections and socio-economic costs. The solution by Jozef Stefan Institute combined classical epidemiological models, machine learning and multiobjective optimization using evolutionary algorithms.
The EU-funded WideHealth project aims to conduct research on pervasive eHealth and establish a sustainable network of research and dissemination across Europe.
